FM9 - Plexi (1987x + 6CA7)
FM9 - Plexi (1987x + 6CA7)
This preset has the 1987x and 6CA7 Plexi amps in stereo, seeking to recreate classic Marshall Plexi tones found on countless rock records.
This preset comes with the following per-preset footswitch assignments on Layout 8:
Amp drive up/down
Amp Input Boost - Hits the front end of the amps with a 12dB FAS Boost model
Prince of Tone overdrive. This can be used into the amps on their clean setting for slight breakup, or in conjunction with the amp drive switch for smaller leads.
1/8th note delay
Dotted 8th note delay
Reverb - press to decrement through channels D-A, hold to increment through channels A-D
Single coil / humbucker switch. LED off is for single coils
Post amp clean boost
Chorus on/off
Tremolo on/off
Fuzz face on/off
Octave Up on/off
This preset also comes with two cab blocks, both of which have channels A-D set up with four different cab combinations for each amp. The cab makes a big difference in the overall sound so this gives you even more options to experiment with for tone shaping without having to dial anything in.
Scenes:
Pedalboard - this is where I recommend spending the majority of your time unless you plan to build scenes for each part of a song. Use in the PER PRESET footswitch layout.
Mono users: This preset has a massive stereo image but is mono-compatible. When running mono with SUM L+R in the global settings for the output you’re using, I recommend disabling the enhancer block.
